KARACHI, Dec 29 (INP) In a counterstrike against Pakistan People’s Party’s (PPP) latest assault on former military ruler Gen (Retd) Pervez Musharraf, his party All Pakistan Muslim League (APML) said the majority party of the province was itself doing enough to destabilize the Sindh government.
The reaction came on the heels of a statement by Co-chairman PPP Asif Ali Zardari in which he alleged that Musharraf with the help of some newly found allies was trying to jeopardize the provincial government.
In an interview APML spokesperson Asia Ishaq said the PPP leader rose to political power by stepping on the dead body of his late wife.
“Shaheed Benazir Bhutto’s blood is the lifeline of Mr Zardari’s politics. It is soaked in her blood for he is the sole beneficiary of her assassination,” said she.
Ms Ishaq further said that racing the horses was Zardari’s obsession and not theirs, adding APML was by no means interested in booting out the government.
“He who owns and runs the horses should better know about horse-trading (hard political bargaining that involves unofficial or secret compromises),” she added.
She concluded her short statement with the allegation that the children were dying in Thar only because of the PPP-led provincial government’s egregious incompetence.
“The PPP’s poor performance was its death indeed,” Ms Ishaq said in her Parthian shot.
