In a gory terrorist attack in Parachinar’s area of Kurram Agency at least 22 people were killed and scores of others injured when a crowded clothes market was hit by bomb blast on Sunday.

According to Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) a powerful time bomb weighing about 30 to 35 kilogram ripped through the used clothes market when the people were busy in buying used clothes for the winter season. Rescue and emergency teams rushed to the blast site and shifted the dead and wounded to District Headquarters Hospital (DHQ) Parachinar where according to hospital sources condition of 15 injured people was serious.

No individual or group has claimed responsibility for the attack yet. Security sources said that two suspects have been taken into custody from the blast site. The agency is adjacent to North Waziristan where Operation Zarb-i-Azb is in progress against the Tehreek-i-Taliban and other insurgent groups. The military had also launched an offensive against militants in 2011. As a nation we are fighting a decisive war against terror and terrorists are on the run. Off and on terrorists find easy targets to kill innocent people but they are unaware that they can’t weaken our resolve to curb militancy through such tactics. Our resolve to eradicate the menace of terrorism is getting stronger with the loss of innocent lives and sacrifices of army and law enforcement agencies. Terrorist must keep it in their minds that fight against them is an irreversible process until the terrorism is rooted out from the country.

There should be no doubt that elements involved in barbaric and shameful acts of terrorism are enemies of humanity and of our country. Elimination of elements involved in such activities is the top most priority of our country because they are the great hindrance on our way of prosperity and bright future.

Terrorists must not think that such barbaric attacks could deter our firm resolve to root out terrorism from our country.
