We all are well aware of it that drugs threaten our society. The main target today of drug abuse is our youth. Drugs challenge youth and their moral responsibilities. That’s why drugs are also called as the “Killer of Youth”. A drug user not only destroys his own life but he is also responsible for the destruction of the whole society and the next generations. Most of the youngsters use drugs for relaxing, lifting their minds and to prove that they have become independent now.
It is right that drug use seem cool, fun and glamorous but ‘ All that glitters is not gold”. There are both positive and negative aspects of everything in life depends what we choose just like that there are two paths given to us by Allah Almighty in this world. One is the way of virtue and good although it is a bit hard to pass but takes us to Heaven and other is the way of evil which is very easy to pass, no hurdles, no difficulties, looks glamorous to us but takes us to Hell.
For the development of a healthy and drug free society, Anti Narcotics Force (ANF) is striving hard so that it can make our youth and the next generations aware of the horrible effects of drugs and narcotics. For this purpose, ANF has started Youth Ambassadorship programme and is selecting the Youth Ambassadors all over the country for the awareness of drugs.
The mission of this programme is to make our Youth aware of the social bindings and relations especially to aware them about the adverse effects of drugs on our life. ANF is playing a vital role against drug traffickers at national and international levels and has started awareness campaigns in educational institutions along with many sports activities.
ANF Youth Ambassadorship Programme provides not only training, research fields to our youth but also develops in them management skills and leadership qualities. Director General ANF Major General Khawar Hanif and Brig Ramazan Gill along with the whole ANF team are trying their best for developing a drug free society. I, being a student and youth ambassador of ANF highly appreciate the Pak Army for their sincere attempts which they are making to make our youth aware about the hazards of narcotics. I, especially salute the Pak Army for their cooperation.
They already have been protecting our borders and sacrificing their lives for the glory of their homeland. Our Army in every difficult situation, whether it was flood or earthquake, matter of IDP’s or operation Zarb-e-Azab, was there for us and now they have taken a step for our youth and have came forward to protect youth from drugs. Drug abuse is a worldwide phenomenon and is rapidly growing in Pakistan.
The use of drugs gives rise to crimes, violence, and break up of social bindings and educational institutions are being affected but thanks to Pak Army that to overcome these social implications Pak Army has conducted 12 operations in different parts of the country. These operations resulted in the recovery of a large quantity of drugs including Heroin. Hats off to the Pak Army for the attempts which they are making against drug trafficking and drug use. The measures taken by ANF and Pak Army are highly appreciable. They have set a golden example for the whole world.
