ANF recovers drugs worth Rs 55 million, eight arrested

KARACHI(PR): Anti Narcotics Force during its drive against narcotics smuggling, carried out 6 operations at Jhelum, Peshawar, Shikarpur and Karachi, which resulted in seizure of 31 Kgs of Charas, 3.5 Kgs of Heroin, 30 bottles of Wine, and arrest of 8 persons including a lady involved in drug smuggling. A vehicle was also confiscated during the operations. The value of seized drugs amounts to Rs 54.3 Million approximately in International Market.

According to details, ANF Karachi Road Check Team intercepted a suspected Suzuki Mehran Car No. Z-4271 at Humayun Sharif Stop, Jacobabad-Shikarpur Road, Shikarpur and recovered 25 Kgs of Charas concealed in secret cavities of the car. Two accused namely Zubair Ahmed s/o Mehrab-ub-Din and Muhammad Nazwaz s/o Sadharo, both residents of District Shaikarpur were taken into custody at the spot. As per reports, both accused are involved in local distribution of drugs and were proceeding to a nearby locality for delivery of drugs.

ANF Karachi in an operation conducted in the area of Khas Kheli Para, Ibrahim Haideri Goth, Karachi, held 2 local drug suppliers namely Muhammad Arshad s/o Abdul Qayum and Muhammad Ashiq s/o Ghulam Rasool, both residents of Karachi. The operation resulted in recovery of 2.5 Kgs of Charas and 30 bottles of Wine from their personal possession. The drugs were concealed in their baggage. As per reports, both accused are local distributers.

ANF Karachi intercepted two different parcels at TCS Office, Jinnah International Airport, Karachi, which separately contained 3 Kg and 490 Grams of Heroin tactfully concealed in 8 boxes of Bangles and Rabab (musical instruments) respectively. Both parcels were intended for UK.

ANF Peshawar Road Check Team on search of a passenger van during routine checking near main Motorway Toll Plaza, Peshawar, apprehended a lady smuggler namely Gulab Zarin w/o Abid Ullah (Late) and recovered 3 Kgs of Charas (Garda) from her personal possession. Charas was packed in 3 packets kept in a shopping bag.
