ISLAMABAD: ANF recovered 239 Kg Charas and 96 Kg Opium in 5 operations launched across the country. The operations resulted in arrest of 9 drug traffickers including 3 ladies and seizure of 3 vehicles. The worth of recovered drugs is approximately Rs 69 Crore 80 Lac in International Market.
According to details, ANF Rawalpindi arrested a local drug peddler named Saqib Abbasi along with recovery of 1 Kg Charas, which was found in his personal possession. He was arrested from Mohallah Aminabad, Attock City.
ANF Lahore in an operation conducted near Niazi Bus Stand, Bund Road Lahore held an individual named Muhammad Mohsin, resident of Lahore and recovered 3 Kg Opium from his personal possession. As preliminary investigations, he was involved in distribution of drugs at local
ANF Lahore Road Check Team during routine checking near Mari Salu, Khanewal, captured a suspected Hiace Dotson Registered No. PP-7772. During search of the vehicle, 93 Kg Opium and 85 Kg Charas was recovered, which was concealed in secret cavities of the vehicle. A drug trafficker named Aamir Shahzad resident of Chiniot was also arrested at the spot. According to initial information, he was trying to smuggle the drug to Punjab for local consumptions.
ANF Lahore Road Check Team during checking at main Motorway Toll Plaza, Faisalabad, seized a Honda Civic Car registration No LEA-3908 and recovered 18 Kg Charas concealed inside different parts of the car. Five individual including 3 ladies boarding on the car were arrested. The arrested accused was identified as Lal Marjan resident of Khyber Agency, Muhammad Hassan, Maira, Mehnaz and Nazia resident of Peshawar. As per initial investigations, they were transporting the drugs from KPK to Punjab.
ANF Sindh while acting on a tip-off, intercepted a Toyota Corolla Car near Farash More Shikarpur Road, Sukkur. Detailed search of the car led to seizure of 135 Kg Charas concealed in improvised cavities of the car. An occupant of the car identified as Ramzan Khan resident of Larkana was also arrested during the operation. As per reports, he was trying to transport the drugs to Karachi.
Cases have been registered against all the detainees at respective police stations and investigations are under process.
