ANF recovered 5.4 tons of drugs, worth over Rs 9. 11 billion

ISLAMABAD (INP): ANF recovered 4558 Kgs of Opium, 812 Kgs of Morphine, 28.2 Kgs of Charas, 4.58 Kgs of Heroin and 750 Gms of Amphetamine in 14 different operations launched at Attock, Lahore, Haripur, Peshawar, Karachi, Chaghi, Qilla Abdullah and Pishin.

 

During operations ANF apprehended 10 persons including a lady and seized 2 vehicles. Most of the recovered drug was destined abroad.

 

According to details, ANF Quetta in an intelligence led operation seized 2678 Kgs Opium, near Sheen Ghar, Tehsil Bashore, District Pishin. According to reports the consignment was concealed in cuttings of mountainous terrain. The consignment was intended to be transported to Iran via Mashkhel.

In another operation, ANF Quetta seized 1880 Kgs of Opium, which was concealed in an orchard of Killi Shadozai, District Qilla Abdullah. The consignment was placed for handing over from one Narco-Gang to another. As per initial investigation, the consignment was to be smuggled to Iran via Taftan.

Yet in another operation, ANF Quetta seized 812 Kgs of Morphine, concealed in an underground tank in general area of Killi Station, Tehsil Taftan, District Chaghi. The consignment was stored for safe custody, to smuggle on getting safe signal for transportation. According to investigations, the drug consignment was intended for smuggling to Iran.

ANF Karachi seized a Rikshaw No. D-12-06401 near Passport Office, Saddar, Karachi and recovered 12 Kgs of Charas form it. An accused namely Arshad Rasool s/o Muhammad Afzal r/o Karachi was arrested at the spot. As per initial investigation, the accused is local supplier of drugs.

ANF Karachi conducted an operation on Super Highway near Baqai More, Karachi and arrested Tahir Zaman s/o Noor Zaman r/o Karachi alongwith10 Kgs of Charas. He was to deliver the drugs for street suppliers.

ANF Peshawar in an operation near MCB, Khurshid Plaza, Industrial Estate, Hattar, Haripur, arrested Bagul Jan s/o Rehman-ud-Din r/o District Mardan and recovered 1.2 Kgs of Charas from his personal possession.

ANF Peshawar Airport Team apprehended a passenger namely Shaheed Khan s/o Mohabat Khan r/o Kurram Agency at Peshawar Airport, who confessed of having ingested Heroin filled capsules. Later on, the case resulted in recovery of 66 Heroin filled capsules weighing 350 Gms. The accused intended to take off by Shaheen Airline Flight No. NL-723 to Riyadh.

ANF Peshawar intercepted a Toyota Pickup No C-4508 near Pishtakhara Chowk, Peshawar and recovered 5 kg Charas concealed in the vehicle. An accused Sahib Gul s/o Arman Gul r/o Khyber Agency was arrested at the spot. As per initial reports, he used to transport drugs to nearby cities of Peshawar.

ANF Peshawar in another operation at Peshawar Airport, apprehended a passenger Sartaj Ali s/o Said Rehman r/o Malakand on suspicion of carrying Heroin filled capsules. It later resulted in delivery of 105 Heroin filled capsules. He was traveling by Shaheen Airline, Flight No NL-756 to Abu Dhabi.

ANF Peshawar Airport Team apprehended a passenger Naveed Ullah s/o Amar Ullah r/o Bajour Agency on suspicion of carrying Heroin filled capsules. It later resulted in delivery of 119 Heroin filled capsules. He was boarding on Shaheen Airline flight No NL-786 and was destined for Dubai.

ANF Peshawar Airport Team arrested a lady namely Javeria Awan d/o Muhammad Ghulam r/o Peshawar from Peshawar Airport and recovered 690 Gms of Heroin concealed in a box containing Ispaghol and 750 Gms of Amphetamine concealed in her trolley bag. She was boarding by Shaheen Airline, Flight No. NL-456 and was destined for Abu Dhabi.ANF Lahore Airport Team arrested a passenger Azhar Iqbal s/o Rehmat Iqbal r/o Gujrat at Allama Iqbal International Airport, Lahore and recovered 2.89 Kgs of Heroin concealed in his trolley bag. He was boarding for Greece by Emirates Airline Flight No. EY-242.

ANF Lahore intercepted a parcel at DLH Office, M.M Alam Road, Lahore and recovered150 Gms of Heroin concealed in a Flask Thermos. The parcel was booked by Khaqan Arsal Raja r/o Lahore and was destined for Riaz Hussain r/o Heights Marsh Road, Litton, United Kingdom.

ICC has announced the prize money for the winning team of Cricket World Cup 2023.
