RAWALPINDI: A high level Inter Agency Task Force meeting of all Law Enforcement Agencies was held at Headquarters Anti Narcotics Force. It was attended by officials of Law Enforcement Agencies. The meeting was presided by Director General Anti Narcotics Force Major General Khawar Hanif. A total of 18 representatives attended the meeting which included FBR, Pakistan Coast Guards, ASF, FIA, Pakistan Maritime Security Agency, FATA Secretariat, Pakistan Rangers Punjab, Pakistan Rangers Sindh, Frontier Corps KPK, FC Baluchistan, National Highways & Motorway Police, Pakistan Railway Police, Islamabad Police, AJK Police, Punjab Police, Sindh Police, KPK Police and Baluchistan Police.
The Aim of this meeting was to increase coordination and cooperation for drug control, so that maximum benefit can be attained from the jurisdiction of the respective departments. During the meeting drug based performance of last 3 months of all Law Enforcement Agencies was analyzed. The suggestions to increase the efficiency were also invited from all Law Enforcement Agencies. While addressing to a query in the conference, DG ANF increased the vacancies for Anti Narcotics Training of all LEAs at ANF Academy, Islamabad. He also offered ANF services to all LEAs in prosecution of Narcotics cases, and advised ANF Legal Directorate to provide full support on Legal Matters.
During the conference emphasis was laid to enhance the effectiveness of Anti Narcotics Cell in respective Headquarters of LEAs. During discussion, need to further improve the cooperation in different field was highlighted, which included intelligence sharing, technical knowhow, legal issues and training. All LEAs were also provided with latest Drug Testing Kits, so as to ascertain the type / quality of drug at place of incidence. At the end, performance of all Law Enforcement Agencies and their active participation in the meeting was appreciated.
