ISLAMABAD, Nov 28 (INP): Anti Narcotics Force (ANF) foiled smuggling bids during separate operations in different cities and recovered drugs worth Rs399 millions besides arresting four smugglers including a foreigner on Friday.
The ANF Karachi Sea Port team intercepted a container at Pakistan International Container Terminal (PICT) and thwarted attempt to smuggle 60 Kgs of heroin abroad. The recovered heroin was packed in 120 packets, each containing 500 grams and was tactfully concealed inside four tractor tyres. The consignment was destined for Sri Lanka. The consignment was transported from Mardan and was owned by a person namely Illahi Bakhsh. ANF arrested three accused namely Alamgir Khan, Munir Tahir and Amjid Ali.
The ANF Rawalpindi Airport team during routine checking detained a Nigerian national identified as Anigbo Vincent at Benazir Bhutto International Airport on suspicion of carrying heroin filled capsules. During interrogation, the accused confessed of having digested heroin filled capsules. He was to board for Lagos by Qatar Airline Flight QR-615.
