KARACHI: Jamaat Islami (JI) head Sirajul Haq on Friday said that Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain will tender his resignation for the final time on 23rd of April for never taking it back. He said that the fate of Karachi will not be decided in London but in the streets and roads of the ‘City of Quaid’.
Addressing a public meeting on Pakistan Avenue, JI head said that Altaf Hussain has resigned 9 times and took his resignation back for an equal number of times as well. He said that hooliganism and bullying is going to end in Karachi. “Sisters of Karachi have given their verdict today that Raja Dahir like politics is going to end now”, he said.
Sirajul Haq said that JI will make sure after coming to power that the women get their due share in inheritance. “We will lessen the working hours for women after coming into power”, he added.
JI head said that fake votes will not be cast now. He urged the people to vote for JI if they wanted real change and prosperity in the city.
“How did the ‘ghost’ employees make it to the government offices”, he enquired. He alleged that thousands of employees are paid by the government while working for ‘Nine-Zero’.
Other leaders of JI also addressed the meeting. Mirajul Huda Siddiqui said, “Imran Khan has come, Sirajul Haq has also come. When will Altaf Hussain come?” he questioned.
JI candidate for NA-246 by-election Rashid Naseem said that Karachi was a city where business continued even in the night but now people’s lives are not secure even in daylight. “Karachi will be made a ‘land of peace’ under Sirajul Haq’s leadership”, said Naseem.
