KARACHI: MQM Chief, Altaf Hussain has announced support for the construction of Kalabagh Dam and urged the government to complete this project after disposing of the reservations of Sindh people.
Chief of MQM demanded the federation to summon a joint meeting of experts from all the four provinces to address Sindh people’s reservations over the construction of Kalabagh Dam. He said that if the officials fail to overcome the reservations of Sindhis then they should build small dams across Sindh so that the wastage of water can be handled.
Altaf Hussain said that it’s for the first time in metropolis that people are dying from severe heat stroke while prolonged power outages and gas crisis have also irked Karachiites.
Federal and provincial governments are continuously bashing one another instead of providing a valid solution to the ongoing situation of Karachi, he added. He further urged the provincial and local administrations to ensure the timely provision of ambulances and space in morgue centers.
MQM chief also appealed to the philanthropists to come forward for the help of heat-stricken masses in Karachi. Moreover, he advised the authorities to stop indulging in political chaos and assist the heat affectees and that they should meet the demands of protesting community.
