PM’s resignation, even for a month, must for fair investigation : Qureshi

ISLAMABAD: As Azadi March of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) is continued, Chairman PTI Imran Khan has advised Vice Chairman PTI Shah Mehmood Qureshi to leave for Karachi today to consult PTI Sindh’s leadership on the ongoing political crisis.

Addressing the media at the airport, Qureshi said that he has come to convey Imran Khan’s message to the people of Karachi. He said PTI’s sit-in protests are being replicated countrywide and abroad.
Qureshi said that Imran Khan raised voice against election rigging fourteen months ago and remain firmed on his point of view.
He said the nation has awakened now and that the beginning of new Pakistan has taken place.
Shah Mehmood Qureshi claimed that ‘systematic and organized’ rigging took place during the general elections 2013, adding that Prime Minister’s resignation for a month is necessary for transparent investigation,

Khan says that doors to negotiations have been closed; no invitation from the government shall therefore be accepted.

Imran Khan has asked Qureshi to meet the returning officers (ROs) of Tharparkar, who had previously admitted to rigging in the elections.

Menwhile, Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain urged Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) chief Dr Tahirul Qadri through a telephone call to demonstrate patience, saying that all efforts are being done to solve the crisis through talks with Governor Punjab Chaudhry Sarwar and Governor Sindh Ishratul Ibad.
According to the details, MQM chief contacted PAT chief through telephone and urged him to stay patient for a little longer.
Hussain told Qadri that all efforts are being made to resolve the issue through talks with Punjab and Sindh governors, adding that the decision should be made after thorough deliberation and not in haste. Agencies
