MULTAN: The arrangements for by-elections in NA-149, Multan have been finalized with deployment of electoral staff and security officials in the constituency. Close contest is expected between senior politician Javed Hashmi and Amir Dogar, who is backed by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf.
Hashmi won the NA-149 seat in 2008 general elections on PML-N ticket, while he again emerged victorious on the same seat in 2013 elections as the PTI candidate.
However, he is now contesting by-polls as independent candidate after saying goodbye to PTI.
Whereas Amir Dogar, who had previously won the polls on the PPP ticket, is now running for the constituency as independent candidate.
