ISLAMABAD, Nov. 23 (DNA): Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) will further strengthen its advanced studies research plan at the Ph.D level, making the work of research scholars more meaningful and productive.
A decision to this effect was taken at the University’s 28th meeting of the Board of Advanced Studies and Research ( BASAR) held here under the Chairmanship of Vice Chancellor Dr. Shahid Siddiqui.
Twenty-five Ph.D thesises were presented at the meeting. Besides this, several M. Phil synopses and the lists of local foreign evaluators and supervisors were presented for the endorsement of BASAR.
It was decided that the Ph.D scholars will present and defend their thesis at the BASAR’s meeting in presence of eminent scholars. At least three meetings of BASAR will be held in a year to review the research the work.
It was agreed that the Ph.D research proposals in different disciplines will be presented for the approval of the highest research and advanced studies forum of the University. The BASAR consists of some renowned scholars and educationist of the country.
