ISLAMABAD: Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) has started ‘mailing of books’ to its millions of students enrolled in Spring Semester 2015 from each part of the country in Matric to Ph.D level programs.
In the first phase, the books are being dispatched to the students of PTC, Matric, F.A. and B.Ed. and it is hoped that all the enrolled students across the country will receive their books and allied reading material by May 31 next.
The Mailing Department of the University has been given the target date to complete the process, said Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Shahid Siddiqui while inaugurating the books’ mailing process. The relevant staff has also been advised to ensure accuracy in the mailing system to avoid any inconvenience at the students’ level.
The students will get books at their given address through post offices. All the enrolled students from matric to postgraduate-level will be informed about the mailing date through sms messages, where their cell numbers are available with the University.
Automaton mailing system has been introduced from this semester for the quick delivery of the books. According to Director Mailing Department Syed Qamar uddin, books-tracking system has also been introduced and now the students could check information about their books by visiting website. DNA
