ISLAMABAD: Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal while commenting on the budget said China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) is a national project and ample resources have been provided for this Corridor in the budget.
He said three billion rupees have been allocated for Western route of the Corridor so that it could be completed soon. The Minister said they are working overtime to complete the projects under CPEC as the future of coming generations is linked to it.
He assured that projects under this Corridor will be completed in time.
Ahsan Iqbal said 4.2 percent growth rate achieved during the outgoing year is highest in the seven years despite hurdles were created through sit-ins.
He said in the budget, the burden has not been put on the people and incentives have been provided in exports, agriculture and other sectors. He said allocations have been enhanced for power sector, HEC and Railways. He said forty-one billion development budget of railways is all time high.
The Minister said due to financial discipline adopted by the Government price hike has been reduced. NNI
