Aftab Alam’s murder investigation: Pistol used in two other target killings

KARACHI: Investigations in journalist Aftab Alam’s murder on Thursday have revealed that pistol used for the killing was used earlier in different target killings.

Sources said that shells seized from the crime scene in Sir Syed Town match with those recovered from killings’ sites in Ajmer Nagri and Nazimabad.

In August, Pakwan’s owner Rehan was gunned down in Nazimabad. While in Ajmer Nagri, a local bakery’s owners Imran and Waqar were also killed. All three killing have been revealed to be done using same pistol. Investigation team has collected evidences that propose a common group behind the killings.

Separately, police have registered a case against unidentified miscreants in case regarding killing of a family of four in Manzoor Colony. On September 9, unidentified criminals murdered four members of a family and set the house on fire before fleeing.
