ISLAMABAD, Aug 18 (NNI): The following adjournment motion was submitted in the Senate on Monday just hour before the start of the session.

The motion was signed by PPP’s Farhatullah Babar and Saeed Ghani, and ANP’s Zahid Khan, Afrasiab Khattak and Haji Adeel. “This House may be adjourned to discuss an issue of grave national importance; namely the situation arising out of the convergence of the so called ‘Azaadi’ and ‘Inqilab’ marches in Islamabad for the last three days resulting thus far in a civil disobedience call made by a political party, seriously endangering the civilian democratic structures and raising to an alarming level the specter of an armed clash between the people and security forces in the heart of the capital that houses the seat of the government, the Parliament, the judiciary and foreign missions.

This situation calls for adjourning the normal proceedings of the House to discuss the same with a view to finding a solution based on the collective wisdom of the House”
