Former popular actress Mumtaz Begum has expressed her regret on the behavior of singer Chahat Fateh Ali Khan for making fun of her famous song ‘Badu Badi’.
Mumtaz spoke about it in an interview on his YouTube channel with his son Zeeshan Bari and said that ‘Badu Badi’ is the most memorable song of his career and he didn’t like the humor about it.
The actress said that the song ‘Akh Lali Badu Badi’ in the 1973 film Banarasi Thug was sung by Noor Jahan, due to whose popularity the film became a success and ran for a long time. He said that Chahat Fateh Ali Khan sang a new version of the song on YouTube in June 2024 which was based on a joke and it went viral instantly.
Zeeshan Bari appreciated that Chahat’s video revived the original song and his mother’s popularity among the younger generation, albeit in a humorous way. However, Mumtaz expressed his displeasure at the singer’s style and said that he did not like this method.
It should be noted that after this song of Chahat Fateh Ali Khan went viral, it was deleted from YouTube due to copyright infringement.
