‘Action will be taken against responsible of Multan tragedy’

PM vows to defeat conspiracies for destabilizing govt

 

LAHORE: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif Sunday vowed to defeat the conspiracies to destabilize the government and democracy with the backing of the people and reiterated that the government will continue to concentrate its attention to resolve crisis facing the country including load shedding.

 

Talking to Punjab CM Shahbaz Sharif here the PM said the people of Pakistan are with the government and democracy and the government would not leave them alone at the mercy of the vested interests.

 

During the meeting, overall political situation in the country, unfortunate tragedy after the PTI public meeting in Multlan, compensation to flood affectees and security arrangements during Muharram came under detailed review.

 

The Prime Minister asked the Chief Minister to rehabilitate the flood affectees on priority basis and ensure foolproof security arrangements in Lahore and other cities during Muharram ul Haram.

 

Nawaz Sharif said that action will be taken against the responsible of Multan tragedy after a transparent inquiry. He expressed the confidence that the government would overcome the political crisis created by vested interests who are creating hurdles in the development of the country. He said these people are the real enemy of the country.

 

He said those staging protest sit-ins have been exposed and people are not backing them. As a result the leaders of sit- ins have become disappointed and were now searching for the alternatives to get a safe exit.

 

Shahbaz Sharif briefed the Prime Minister that entire machinery of the province was in action to help the flood affectees and in addition to relief goods, cash compensation will be ensured to every one for the loss of lives, property, crops and cattle heads.

 

He said that he has already issued direction to Inspector General Police Punjab to make all the arrangements for peace and order during Muharram.
