Corruption is mother of all evils, a silent killer and the major hurdles in way to the progress and prosperity of the country. NAB is committed to eradicate corruption by adopting ‘Accountability for All’ policy through ‘zero tolerance’ and ‘self accountability’ across the board under the leadership of its Chairman Justice (r) Javed Iqbal.
NAB has started a nationwide action against corrupt elements to recover looted money by playing it’s truly role as apex anti-corruption organization. Until now National Accountability Bureau has recovered Rs. 296 billion from the corrupt elements and deposited in the national exchequer which is a record attainment. NAB has filed more than 1,200 corruption references in respective Accountability Courts in different parts of the country against corrupts which are under trial.
In a recent executive board meeting of the National Accountability Bureau held, approval was granted for the filing of various references, including a corruption reference against former Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani. While former secretary of Information Technology Farooq Awan, former press information officer (PIO) Muhammad Saleem, former company secretary Universal Service Fund Syed Hasan Sheikh, the CEO of Messrs Midas (Pvt) Ltd Inam Akbar and several other individuals from the Ministry of Information Technology were also named in the corruption references.

While on the other hand, the expected Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran khan also vows to eradicate corruption and said that our state institutions will be so strong that they will stop corruption. Accountability will start with me, then my ministers, and then it will go from there. Imran khan also claimed that he will strengthen the anti-corruption institutions and will follow the Chinese model by taking stern action against corruption.
Imran khan got majority on his stand against corruption and it is very clear that nation is united against corruption. NAB shall expedite its action against the corrupt elements, cases shall be concluded on result and time oriented policy nationwide.
We hope that NAB to show that it is not used for victimization against. It is expected that NAB to complete inquiries and investigations strictly on merit that too without caring about any pressure or favor.
As corruption is mother of all evils, stern actions must be taken against corrupt elements.
