In today’s society the act of a few people in a certain community is attributed to the whole community. In my opinion, if few people of a particular group commit some act of terror, it does not mean that the whole community represents that.
Yes, the problem I am addressing is the so called famous statement, we hear every day that: ‘Muslims are terrorists’. I don’t think that is the case. Even if some Muslims support these terror acts, these acts are not representative of Muslims in general. These people try to justify the denigration of an entire community of 1.6 billion people on the basis of the actions of a few dozen of them. You are likely to believe that this proposition is true because the international media only reports on Muslim terrorism. The media is teaching people to be terrified of Muslims. Whereas, the truth is most of the Muslims do not even sympathize with terrorists. Many of them raised voices against terrorism and many are still fighting.
According to the Global Terrorism Database which has data on over 125000 terrorist attacks from 1970 to 2013, most prolific and deadly attacks are not by Muslims at all. The real case is actually Muslims are the people that have suffered most according to the National Counter Terrorism Center(NCTC) which said: ‘In cases where the religious affiliation terrorism causalities are determined, Muslim suffered between 82-97% of terrorism-related fatalities over the past five years’. So I think the notion of calling all Muslims terrorists is just an illusion created by the western media to pursue its political aims.
