LAHORE, Dec 31 (INP): Punjab Chief Minister Mian Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif on Wednesday said that the provincial government has taken solid measures for the promotion of good governance and the culture of merit and transparency in the province. He stated this while talking to the Chief Technology Officer of the Tara Data Corporation Dr. Stephen Barest who called on him in Lahore. They discussed the introduction and utilization of data analysis technology in Pakistan. He said that the data analysis technology can be used for bringing about significant improvement in various sectors including education, health, transport, and security and curbing crimes. Shahbaz Sharif underlined the need for utilising the new trends of information technology for the enhancement of the performance of various institutions. The Chief Minister advised the relevant officials to evolve a coordinated programme to introduce and use the data analysis technology in various fields. The Home Minister Colonel retired Shujaa Akhunzada, Punjab Inspector General of Police, and Chairman of the Information Technology Board were also present on the occasion. INP
