ANF seizes 5.54 tons of drugs worth Rs 5.547 billion

QUETTA: ANF recovered 5.54 Tons of Charas, 1 Kg Heroin and 105 Grams of Amphetamine (Ice) during 5 operations conducted across the country. The value of recovered drugs approximately amounts to Rs. 5.547 Billion in International Market. Most of the recovered drugs were intended for foreign destinations. ANF also arrested 5 persons involved in drug trafficking including a foreign lady during the operations.

ANF Quetta in a successful intelligence led operation conducted at desolate area of Killi Zard Abdullah, Tehsil Mangocher, District Kalat, seized 5.53 Tons of Charas. According to details, Charas was secretly stocked at a deserted location surrounded by barren mountains, far-away from the inhabited area. Charas was packed in 107 plastic sacks. Out of total sacks, 106 contained 52 Kg Charas, while 1 sack contained 15 Kg Charas. As per initial investigations, the consignment was placed at a cache site for handing over to some other drug tracking gang. After receipt of safe signal, the drug was to be shifted to Karachi through RCD Highway. Finally, the consignment was to be smuggled to some foreign destination located across the sea.

ANF Rawalpindi Road Team during routine checking at Attock Khurd, GT Road, District Attock, searched a passenger van and arrested a 40 years old Zambian National lady namely Christine Kabunda along with 105 Grams of Amphetamine (Ice), which was recovered from her personal possession. Ice was concealed in a biscuit pack. As per details, she was coming from Peshawar and was on her way to Islamabad. The lady currently resides at G-13, Islamabad.

ANF Rawalpindi on pursuance of an information, held 2 drug traffickers namely Abdul Khaliq and Khuda-e-Burdi near ANF Police Station Attock and recovered 1 Kg of Heroin from their personal possession. According to details, both accused are Afghan nationals and currently residing at Attock city. They arrested while travelling on a passenger bus bound for Lahore. As per reports, they were heading towards Lahore city for delivery to drugs to some local peddler.

ANF Karachi acted upon a tip-off and raided a drug den being run at a house located in Fareed Colony, Orangi Town, West Karachi, which resulted in recovery of 10 Kgs of Charas. A local peddler Kaloo Khan present on the occurrence scene was also arrested. As per details, the said drug den was being run by the accused namely Nasir Afridi alias Mama, who is still at large and efforts to arrest the absconder are at hand.

ANF Karachi apprehended a local supplier Attique-ur-Rehman r/o Badin and recovered 3 Kg of Charas from his personal possession. He was arrested near Total Petrol Pump, Fateh Chowk, Hyderabad City. He is involved in supply of drugs to nearby localities.   Cases have been registered against all the detainees at respective ANF Police Stations and further investigations are under process.
