CHITRAL: A day long workshop on Value chain of tourism industry inNorthern Pakistan was held here. The workshop was organized by InternationalCenter for Integrated Mountain Development (ICIMOD).
District Nazim Chitral , Maghfirat Shah was chief guest. Addressing on the occasion he said that we have great potential in tourism but unfortunately we can’t project them through proper way. He said that it is dire need of the time to enhance our tourism for sustainable and long term development of Chitral.
Consultant of program Shamsuddin said that Chitral has different types of tourism like Adventure tourism, Cultural tourism, Sport tourism, Ecotourism and Health tourism.
He said we have Kalash culture, Wakhi culture in Broghul valley, free style polo, yak polo, 14 languages, unique types of traditional food, high altitude peaks etc can attract domestic and foreign tourists.
Principal Mola Nigah Nigah said that Terichimir peaks was crossed by Norwegian expeditor in 1960. He said that local people not only earn livelihood but also gain more good values from these foreigners.
Paragliding pilot Saifullah Jan and Shahzada Farhad Aziz said that Chitral is the only place where world record of paragliding registered 3 times by foreign pilots and still they desirous to come here and to fly once again from Beermoghlasht where that can take off and landing both at one place.
