LAHORE : Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has approached the Lahore High Court (LHC) seeking permission to hold a public gathering at Minar-e-Pakistan on March 22.PTI leader Akmal Khan Bari filed the petition, naming the Punjab Chief Secretary, Lahore Deputy Commissioner, and others as respondents.
The petition argued that PTI planned to hold the rally from 8 PM to midnight on March 22 and that the right to hold public gatherings and rallies is protected under the constitution. However, the administration has not made a decision on the party’s request.
The petition urged the LHC to direct the deputy commissioner and other authorities to decide on the request and grant permission for the rally.
