DG Civil Aviation expressed hope that PIA flights will resume to the UK after the European Union. In his statement, DG Civil Aviation Nader Shafi Dar said that a delegation from the British Department of Transport will come to Pakistan next month and an online meeting is also scheduled in the third week of December this month.
He said that a British visit is scheduled in January and upon returning from the visit, flights to the UK are also expected to open in a few weeks. It is expected that flights to the UK will start from March.
DG Civil Aviation said that the British will also assess us on the same lines as the European Union has evaluated us. We have very good results in the European Union and it is hoped that flights to the UK will also start soon.
According to a PIA spokesperson, 21 flights were operated from Pakistan to the UK weekly, 10 flights to London, 9 to Manchester and 2 flights to Birmingham.
It should be noted that the reopening of flights to Europe and the United Kingdom is likely to significantly increase the revenue of the national airline.
