Islamabad: Federal Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb has assured the International Monetary Fund (IMF) to continue the process of reforms for the continuation of economic stability.
This assurance was given in the second day of negotiations between Pakistan and IMF on Tuesday. According to the details, the IMF delegation led by Mission Chief Nathan Porter has met the Minister of Finance and Products, Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb. Federal Minister for Finance Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb welcomed the delegation while Minister of State for Finance Ali Pervez Malik, Governor State Bank Jameel Ahmed, Chairman FBR Rashid Mahmood Langriyal were also present on this occasion. In the meeting, the progress made so far in the implementation of the seven billion dollar loan program was discussed.
While giving a briefing to the IMF delegation, Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb said that most of the targets for the first quarter of the current financial year 2024-25 have been achieved, and reiterated his determination to fully implement the program. The Ministry of Finance says that the IMF has been assured to continue the process of reforms for the continuation of economic stability.
