Islamabad: After the dramatic recovery of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan’s focal person and lawyer Intar Hussain Panjotha from Hasan Abdal, the Islamabad police shifted him to the federal capital and sent him home after recording his statement.
Islamabad Police said that Intizar Hussain Panjotha was taken into protective custody from Attock and transferred to Islamabad, where he was allowed to go home after recording his 161 statement in the case filed in Kohsar police station.
Police said that Intizar Hussain Panjotha along with his brother Zaigham Panjotha has left for his home from the police station while the detailed report of their recovery by the police will be submitted in the Islamabad High Court on Monday.
It should be noted that Intizar Hussain Panjotha went missing from Islamabad on October 8 and an application was filed in the Islamabad High Court for his recovery, where a two-member bench headed by the Chief Justice of the Islamabad High Court is hearing.
During the hearing in the Islamabad High Court on November 1, Attorney General Mansoor Usman Awan had assured the court that Intizar Hussain Panjotha would be recovered within the next 24 hours.
Later last night, the police said that a suspicious vehicle was stopped in the limits of police station Sadar Hasan Abdal Attock late on Saturday and Sunday night.
The police said that after the retaliatory firing, the accused left the vehicle and fled to the desert and the police team searched the vehicle. Both the back and the legs were tied to the feet and their condition was not good.
He said that the police shifted the vehicle and the kidnapper to the police station. In the initial statement, Intar Hussain Panjotha said that the kidnappers were speaking Pashto and could understand a word of Chamkani.
Intizar Hussain Panjotha said that they were subjected to torture, were still roaming the streets for four hours and were demanding a ransom of two crores.
DPO Attock Sardar Ghiyas Gul told Express News that in the light of information from Intar Hussain Panjotha, the search is on to arrest the accused.
He said that since the main case of kidnapping is registered in Islamabad, the kidnapper has been handed over to the police team led by SP City from Islamabad, which will carry out further investigation.
