Passports are no longer required for clearance at all terminals at Singapore’s Changi Airport. According to media reports, the biometric law for clearance from all terminals at Singapore’s Changi Airport has been fully implemented due to which the average time required for clearance will now be only 10 seconds.
Singaporeans can clear immigration using facial and iris biometrics without showing their passports, said a release from the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA).
ICA added that all foreign visitors will also be able to enjoy the facility of passport-free clearance upon departure from Singapore. However, foreigners arriving in Singapore will still need to show their passports and are advised to carry them with them when travelling.
