Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf denied Imran Khan’s resignation from party chairmanship for intra-party election. In a statement issued by PTI’s official X account, Imran Khan denied the claim of senior leader Sher Afzal Marwat regarding his non-participation as chairman in the intra-party elections conducted on the orders of the Election Commission.

PTI says that all important issues regarding the holding of intra-party elections are being considered and no decision has been taken to withdraw Imran Khan from the elections or to nominate any other leader.

According to the spokesperson of Tehreek-e-Insaf on all important matters including the holding of intra-party elections, date and procedure and selection of candidates, as soon as the leadership reaches a conclusion, it will be officially released.

Imran Khan resigned from the party chairmanship, will decide on a new name in the intra-party election

On the other hand, Imran Khan’s lawyer and party senior vice president Sher Afzal Marwat has responded to the party’s denial. In his statement, Sher Afzal said that I have reviewed the contradiction issued by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf, whatever he said in the media talk on intra-party election is the correct statement.

He said that Chairman PTI took decisions in the presence of Senator Ali Zafar, Barrister Gohar, Umair Niazi and me.

Sher Afzal Marwat said that I fail to understand who is behind the contradiction and why the misleading statement was issued. The media is advised not to be offended, then confirm my statement with the above mentioned persons.

It should be noted that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan has resigned from the party chairmanship and he will not be a candidate for the chairmanship in the intra-party elections.

According to sources, Imran Khan conveyed a message to the core committee of the party from jail.

Sources say that due to the punishment in the Toshakhana case, there will be a new candidate as the chairman in the intra-party election and another member will be elected as the chairman in the intra-party election.

Barrister Gohar Khan is likely to be nominated as chairman in the PTI party election, however, when contacted by Geo News, Barrister Gohar has not confirmed or denied.
