ISLAMABAD: The accused, Shahnawaz Amir, the son of senior journalist Ayaz Amir, tried to tamper with the evidence, according to police reports on Sunday regarding developments in the Sara Inam murder case. The father-son pair will return to court on September 26 following the conclusion of their remand (tomorrow).

Five of the six mobile phones found at the crime site, according to the police, belonged to Shahnawaz Amir , and the sixth was registered in the victim’s name. According to the police, the accused used the dumbbells, the murder weapon, to smash both his own and his wife’s phones in order to wipe the data.

According to reports, the police have sent all recovered phones for forensic examination. They added that by reviewing the data from the mobile phones, they will determine the cause of the couple’s argument.

Sources claim that the accused also used scissors to sever the victim’s Canadian passport, rendering it useless. The scissors and fragments of her passport were found at the crime scene, according to the police. According to police sources, the car that was purchased for Sara has been seized and brought to the police station.

The situation:

On Friday, September 24, the police detained the accused Shahnawaz Amir because they believe he killed his wife. He admitted to the crime and claimed that he “thought” his wife was having an extramarital affair.

Sara was allegedly slain by Shahnawaz at her residence on Friday in the Chak Shahzad neighborhood of the federal capital, according to a spokeswoman for the Islamabad Police.

The defendant told the police that the victim was his third wife when they got married three months ago, according to the preliminary inquiry into the matter. On social media, they connected.

Shahnawaz reportedly told the police, “I believed she had an affair with someone else, but she has informed me that she was not seeing anyone.”The deceased was suspected to be “some other country’s agent,” and the man reportedly told the police that he “felt that she was plotting to assassinate him.”

During interrogation, the suspect said that Sara attempted to choke him before he pushed her away. Sara tried to choke me at around 9:30 a.m. I pushed her away because I felt I was going to die, and she fell “Sources claim that he informed the police.

She sprang back up and started attacking me once more, so I grabbed my dumbbells that were close and struck her in the head. The suspect continued to claim that after hitting his wife, the room was covered in blood, which made him fear.

According to the sources, he claimed that he “put Sara’s body in a bathtub to clean the blood stains,” and that he also took a picture of the bathtub and emailed it to his father, Ayaz Amir.
