ISLAMABAD,: On Wednesday, PM Shehbaz Sharif met with Amir of State of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani to discuss bilateral ties and ways to advance bilateral cooperation.
Both nations decided to deepen bilateral cooperation in several areas at the conference held at Diwan-e-Amiri.
A delegation led by the prime minister and included members of his cabinet was present.
The Amir greeted the prime minister at the main door of the Diwan earlier as he arrived.
Before the meeting and the delegation-level talks could begin, the Amiri guards also gave the prime minister a guard of honour.On the Amir of Qatar’s invitation, the prime minister travelled here on Tuesday for a two-day visit. His first trip after taking over the position in April 2021.
The PM had a busy day on Tuesday as well, meeting Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al Thani of Qatar and speaking at a conference on Pakistan-Qatar Trade and Investment.
He will meet with the CEO of Qatar Airways and the Chairman of the Qatar Businessmen Association later today to advance trade between the two nations.
