PCB is debating whether or not to conduct an annual conference

LAHORE: The Pakistan Cricket Board is yet to determine whether to hold its annual general body meeting, despite the fact that it hasn’t done so in the last four years.

The last time the meeting was held was in July 2018, when Najam Sethi was chairman of the PCB.

During his three years as chairman, Ihsan Mani did not convene such a meeting, and while there were hints that current chairman Ramiz Raja intended to do so, no official decision has been made.

Over a hundred participants visited the last meeting, but the constitutional amendment, which was implemented during Mani’s term, has cut the number of general body members to only nine.

Six of the members, the presidents of provincial cricket organizations, have yet to be elected, leaving the PCB chairman and the presidents of the Pakistan Blind and Deaf and Dumb Cricket Associations as the only members eligible. Ex-officio members include the PCB’s chief executive and chief operating officers.

The regional association elections are being delayed due to the PCB’s slow pace in registering clubs and conducting their examination in order to retain elections at the city level.
