RAWALPINDI: Indian troops on Sunday resorted to unprovoked
firing in Chirikot sector along the Line of Control (LoC), injuring an
eight-year old boy.

The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said: “Indian troops from
posts on Line of Control in Chiri Kot Sector opened fire on civil
population. An 8 years old boy Khayam got seriously injured.”

The injured was rushed to a nearby hospital, it said and added Pakistani
troops effectively responded to the Indian post.

However, the Pakistan Army has also targeted Indian army posts along the
Line of Control (LoC) while responding to firing by Indian troops
targeting civilians, the ISPR said on Sunday.

Last month, a civilian named Abdul Rauf was killed when Indian troops
resorted to unprovoked ceasefire violations along the Line on Control,
according to the Inter Services Public Relations.

The incident occurred in Kotkoterra Sector along the LoC. The deceased
was grazing his cattle when he was targeted by Indian troops. NNI
