54 kids die of spurious medicines in hospital in 15 days

BAHAWALNAGAR (NNI): The bereaved families have demanded action against administration of District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital, Bahawalnagar as 54 children died of spurious medicines in the hospital during 15 days.

Sources said that at least 54 children admitted or born in DHQ Bahawnagar expired due to spurious medicines available in the hospital and suggested by the doctors.

The heirs of the deceased children expressing grave concerns over slackness of medical staff of the hospital have demanded Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif to take notice and stern action against the responsible.

Medical Superintendent (MS) Faiz Anwar was of the view the medicines were purchased by EDO Health and not hospital administration
