ISLAMABAD: An earthquake of moderate intensity was felt in the federal capital Islamabad and parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) but no loss was reported from anywhere.
According to geological wing of Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) an earthquake measured 5.1 on Richter scale was felt in Islamabad, Peshawar, Lower Dir and Chitral
People of the area where the tremours were felt rushed out of homes and offices in panic reciting Kalma-e-Tayeeba and verses from holy Quran but no causality or property loss was reported from the areas jolted by the quake.
The seismic monitoring centers reports said that the epicenter of the quake was in Hindu Kush region with the depth of 202 kilometer.
Many buildings in Islamabad and Peshawar evacuated after the shocks. No loss or casualty was reported due to the quake in any area of the country.
