32 more MQM suspects remanded to Rangers custody for 90 days

KARACHI: Another 58 suspects belonging to the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) arrested from Nine Zero were presented on Friday in an anti terrorism court (ATC) in Karachi.

Faisal alias Faisal Mota, who was sentenced to death in the murder case of journalist Wali Khan Babar was also amongst the 58.

The  ATC however  granted 90 days remand of 32 suspects belonging to MQM, to the Rangers.

Also, the ATC has granted custody of Faisal Mota, Nadir Shah, Shabbir Mullah, and Amir Ali to Paposh Police on remand till 25 March.

Yesterday, the Rangers brought 27 arrested MQM men including Amir Khan to an ATC, following Wednesday’s raid at MQM headquarters Nine Zero as well as the party’s public secretariat Khursheed Begum Memorial Hall.

A huge quantity of arms and ammunition, walkie talkies, binoculars and other military gear used by Nato forces in Afghanistan were also seized during the raid.
