ISLAMABAD: Embassy of Uzbekistan in Pakistan organized a reception on the occasion of 26th anniversary of Independence of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
Heads of ministries and departments, representatives of the parliament, as well as senior representatives of the country’s armed forces attended the ceremony. Heads of Chambers of Commerce, representatives of the expert-analytical circles, the media and the diplomatic corps accredited in Islamabad were also guests of the event.
The Ambassador of Uzbekistan in Pakistan His Excellency Furqat Sidiov addressed to the participants and National anthems of Uzbekistan and Pakistan were played in the ceremony. He said that the state independence of Uzbekistan is a solid foundation for ensuring national interests, peaceful life of Uzbek people, increasing the country’s prestige in the international arena. He said that in 26 years Uzbekistan has already achieved quite much. The country develops manufacture, creates new jobs, extends economic capacity, improves social security system, provides ample access to education and health care, reforms all spheres of society. During the years of Independence Uzbekistan took the leading position in the region in scope and volume of construction of residential areas, educational and sports facilities and road communications infrastructure. He said under the visionary leadership of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, Uzbekistan is achieving further prosperity and development.
During the reception, the Federal Minister of Privatization Daniyal Aziz congratulated the leadership and people of Uzbekistan with the 26 anniversary of independence of the republic. He said that Pakistan attaches high priority to the development of mutually beneficial relations with Uzbekistan, as well as the activation of bilateral cooperation and interaction within the United Nations, the OIC and the SCO. He appreciated the leading role of Uzbekistan in Central Asia in the implementation of important regional initiatives, in particular the creation of transnational projects, which, in his opinion, the countries of the region will provide the shortest access to the sea ports. This, in turn, will contribute to the expansion of trade and economic ties with world markets.
In the course of the event the exhibition dedicated to the historical and cultural heritage of the Uzbek people was organized, as well as a photo exhibition and a demonstration video, revealing the achievements of Uzbekistan’s independence. Exhibition of Uzbek dresses also took attention of the participants.
