KARACHI: Pak Sarzameen Party (PSP) leader Anees Qaim Khani Monday revealed that 260 office bearers of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) have so far joined his party.
“260 office bearers of MQM have so far joined Pak Sarzameen Party and they all are from Karachi,” the party leader Anees Qaim Khani said while addressing a press conference.
On the occasion, the PSP de-facto chief Mustafa Kamal condemned the killing of MQM worker Riazul Haq in Landhi, demanding the Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah to take notice of such incidents.
Kamal said that he himself taken the list of MQM’s missing persons to Director General of Rangers (Sindh) Major General Bilal Akbar.
He demanded of the government to bring in a Balochistan- and FATA-like package for the people of Karachi, adding that MQM workers could be rehabilitated and brought to mainstream.
The PSP leader said that hundreds of thousands of people have joined his party and that they have also set up party offices in Britain, US and Middle East.
Criticizing his former political party, Mustafa Kamal said that the MQM chief Altaf Husain has sold the mandate of Karachi for sake of protecting himself. He said that Altaf is afraid of being arrested.
To a query about sacking of Amir Khan from MQM’s coordination committee, Kamal asked as to how one leader can repeatedly become traitor and faithful. “It is only one person who distributes certificates of traitor and faithful,” he said referring to the MQM chief.
Replying to another query, he said that the people around the world are funding his party and they voluntarily working to make the new party setup.
To another question, Kamal said that the ideology of Pakistan would always remain alive and Muhajirs are integral part of it. “I would oppose isolation of Muhajirs in Pakistan,” he added.
