ISLAMABAD: On the directions of Member Administration and Estate, Amer Ali Ahmed, Health Services Directorate continued with its campaign against the sale of unhygienic, expired and adulterated edible items in the markets of Federal Capital.
In this regard, special teams of Health Services Directorate of CDA conducted various raids during last week of February and issued fifty (50) notices and challaned twenty five (25) people for selling unhygienic, substandard and adulterated food items in the city.
Special teams have confiscated and destroyed 36 litters of expired / non-branded ketchup, 96 soda water bottles, 60 packets of unsounf sweets. Moreover, 176 cracked / chipped utensils were also confiscated and subsequently destroyed. During the operation, teams of Health Services Directorate taken 12 samples from different areas of Islamabad.
Each special team of Health Services Directorate is led by a Food Inspector and all the teams are working under the supervision of Health Officer. Their performance is being reviewed by the Authority on daily basis.
In the meanwhile, Member Administration and Estate has said that operations against the sale of substandard and unhygienic food items will continue with pace so that availability of healthy food and cold drinks could be ensured. He said that stern action would be taken against the violators of rules and regulations. He said that the campaign against unhygienic edible items would continue without favour or fear.
