LAHORE, Jan 08 (NNI): Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) chief Sirajul Haq said on Wednesday that government of Pakistan has opened the door for country’s ethnic divide with the passage of 21st amendment.

Speaking at the national conference in memory of former JI chief Qazi Hussain Ahmad, Sirajul Haq said that religious seminaries cannot be blamed for terrorism in the country adding that terrorists and government both have made religion a ‘hostage’.

JI chief said that the amendment left the space open for the division of country on ethnic lines adding that if national unity cannot be achieved even the nuclear bomb cannot save us from destruction.

He remarked that senator Raza Rabbani’s tears will not go in vain.

Sirajul Haq said that the government is pleasing US by waging a war against religion.

JI chief further claimed that the high-ups in government have assured that no harsh action will be taken against religious seminaries. NNI
