The International Cricket Council (ICC) has made major proposals for the promotion of Test and ODI cricket.
At the ICC board meetings in Dubai, the ICC Cricket Committee made new recommendations according to which the Test series in the next cycle of the WTC should consist of 3 matches instead of 2.
The ICC Cricket Committee says that some countries, including South Africa and New Zealand, play Test series consisting of only 2 matches, Australia, England and India play series of more matches, thus not helping the development of Test cricket while the points The distribution also becomes unfair.
The committee opined that in the next cycle the host nations should have more day-night Test matches when scheduling, tickets for day-night Test matches in India sold more than normal Tests.
Also, the ICC Cricket Committee has recommended using 2 balls in the first 25 overs of ODI cricket. The committee said that a single ball should be used after 25 overs in an ODI match. This recommendation was made to maintain balance between the batsmen and the bowlers. It is being told that the recommendations of the ICC Cricket Committee will be sent to the captains.
