LAHORE: Provincial Minister for Home Col. Retd. Shuja Khanzada presided over the meeting of Flood Cabinet Committee. Director General PDMA Jawad Akram, Director Ali Anan Qamar, Director Nisar Ahmed Sani, Director Aman Anwar Qudwai, Information, Meteorological, Health, SUPARCO, Livestock departments besides other officers attended the meeting.
While addressing the meeting, Provincial Minister said that 136 relief camps have been established in the flood affected areas of the province of Punjab where 12167 affectees are given refuge while rescue-1122 has shifted 12683 marooned people to safe places. He said that mobile security has been provided for the protection of flood affectees.
He said that cooked meal and other essential items is being provided regularly through 250 boats. He said 90750 food hampers of flour, tea, sugar, pulses, match, ghee, biscuit, dry milk besides other essential items have been distributed among the flood affectees.
He said that 1100 life-jackets, 100 life-rings, 8800 tents, 15000 mosquito nets have been supplied to the administration of flood affected districts. He said that monitoring of flow of water is being continued regularly in flood affected areas of south Punjab. He said that rains will be decreased within few days. DNA
