Use of technology to further improve taxation system: Saadia

Rawalpindi: Additional Commissioner Punjab Revenue Authority (PRA) Saadia Akmal Saturday said that new methods are being deployed for tax collection around the world. She said that in Pakistan tax collection has improved a lot in recent years. She said that tech based solutions for tax collection will bring further improvement in the system. The Additional Commissioner was speaking at a seminar organized by Muslim Law College with regards to International Tax Day.

Senior Supreme Court lawyers Hafiz Owais Advocate and Shazia Bilal also addressed the seminar and answered the questions of students regarding taxations issues and the newly announced amnesty scheme by the government. Principal Muslim Law College, Mirza Jawad also addressed the ceremony, he said that the seminar was arranged to raise awareness regarding taxation related matters. He said that Muslim Law College is putting in every effort for improving the standard of legal education. He also thanked the Punjab Revenue Authority for its support in organizing the seminar.

At the end of the seminar shields were presented to the Chief Guests and the college principal. Teachers and students were also presented souvenirs. Students and teachers lauded the efforts of Muslim Law College in raising awareness regarding such an important issue.
