RAWALPINDI (PR) Director General Parks & Horticulture Authority, Rawalpindi Capt (retd) Anwar ul Haq has said that Shahbaz Sharif Park, set up on 110 kanal land is in the final stage of its completion and it will be completed by 31st of March and will be ready for inauguration. He said that the park being completed at the cost of 134 million rupees will also have a spacious cricket ground with a pavilion, football ground of artificial grass, a basketball ground and a gymnasium and this park can rightly be call a mini gymnasium.
He expressed these views while inspecting the ongoing construction work of the park. DG PHA said that the park will have a specious parking lot, a jogging track and a food court, and all of these are also on the final stages of conclusion. He said a modern security system has also been installed in the park and walk through gates to be installed at the entrance points have also been received. He said lofty trees have not been grown in the park as it is located near the runway of Benazir Bhutto Airport because they create hindrance while landing of aeroplanes however ornamental plants have been grown in large numbers. He said previously the land of park fell under the jurisdiction of Civil Aviation Authority and it had turned in to a dumping side and had 10 to 15 feet deep ditches.
