An ancient Japanese healing art technique called ‘Reiki’ is growing amongst the masses in Pakistan though few are still unaware of it. It is a powerful healing technique that can help us to balance our energetic system and promote healing on multiple levels. Reiki comes from two Japanese words’ — ‘Rei’ meaning universal, and ‘Kei’ meaning life force or life energy. It is based on the belief that this whole universe is filled with energy, and we all are being constantly bathed in this infinite pool of energy. So, what do you think will happen if this energy gets depleted in us? We would feel low and will be more prone to illnesses. However, when the energy is high and flowing freely, we would feel healthy and in high spirits.

The purpose of Reiki is to take this energy that surrounds us and transfer it to ourselves or someone else with the sole purpose of healing. When Reiki enters our body it helps to strengthen our immune system and reduce the risk of illness.

To those who have a hard time believing in Reiki can do a Tomato experiment at their home. Take two similar tomatoes and put them in a glass of water. Now, take one of those glasses of water and give 10 minutes Reiki to it, after that take both of those tomatoes’ out and put them on the shelves. Make sure you distinguish both of them by labeling, so you can later identify the one you had transferred Reiki on. After a few days, you will be amazed to find out that the tomato which was not given Reiki will become rotten, and the one given Reiki will stay the same. Now, imagine for a moment, if a tomatoes’ life can expand, what miracles it can produce if the same Reiki enters the human body.

Mikao Usui, a university president, monk, and a spiritual scholar rediscovered Reiki in the eighteenth century. He taught five ethical principles of Reiki. For those who want to be Reiki healers, it is necessary they follow these principles.

Just for today, do not worry
Just for today, do not anger
Honor your parents, teachers, and elders
Earn your living honestly
Show gratitude to everything

These 5 Principles are itself so thought provoking that instead of just applying them for Reiki purpose only, they can be applied in our day to day life also.

With the help of a Reiki Master, you can get attunement for Reiki and then use it to heal yourself and others. Reiki is either transferred by touching the patient which is also called laying of hands, while in level two touching is not necessary. Here, Reiki can remarkably be transferred if the healer and the patient are in different countries. It is a journey that could change your entire life. Yes! You have the power to heal yourself and others right in your hands.
