Panama case decision can either strengthen or weaken the country: Khursheed Shah

April 19, 2017

ISLAMABAD:  Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly Khursheed Shah on Wednesday said that decision of Panama case can either strengthen or weaken Pakistan.

Khursheed Shah, commenting on much awaited decision, said my vision is very clear keeping the past in mind, but it is possible that some miracle happens regarding the verdict.

On the other hand the government Wednesday succeeded to defeat the PPP strategy of breaking quorum in the National Assembly by staging walkout in protest against the disappearance of three aides of Asif Ali Zardari.

Speaking on a point of order, Syed Khursheed Shah demanded that the government should produce the missing persons within 24 hours before a magistrate warning that if any thing wrong happened to the aides of Zardari, an FIR would be lodged against the government. He said they should be produced before the court and if proved guilty and they are hanged, the PPP would accept that.

He said despite their protest over the past several days, the government was mum and not giving any response about the missing persons either in the parliament or outside. After his speech, the PPP parliamentarians walked out of the house and when one of them  pointed out the quorum, a count was ordered and the ruling came that the house was in order, thus the PPP suffered a defeat  in its attempt to get the house adjourned.
