At least 11 passengers including children and women were burnt to death and 40 others injured when a bus carrying a wedding guests caught fire due to falling of electric wires on it in Khairpur Nathan Shah area of district Dadu on Sunday. The dead reportedly included seven women and three children.
President and Prime Minister have expressed their sorrow over the tragic bus incident. Nawaz Sharif directed to take preventive measures to stop such incidents in future.
Question arises why the high-ups of the government direct such measures after the occurrence of infamous incidents, what bar them to take measures which could assure the safety of common man. How ironic this could be for the relatives of the ones who have lost their precious lives, to whom they should blame? Accident was not happened due to some natural calamity, it happened because of negligence of concerned authorities. According to reports high voltage wires must be at the height of 25 meters but the distance was just 17 meters at the place of incident, why?
In developed societies, they have formed animal protection laws. In our society keep the safety of animals aside; human beings are becoming victim of the negligence of policy makers. Just imagine if the infamous incident could have happened in a civilized country, some resignations could have been put on the table right after the incident. But in our society politicians keep putting dirt of words on each other and there is no one to accept the responsibility. Politicians keep focusing on the issues that suit them most and problems faced by the common people are considered not worthy to discuss. Not only the lawmakers but also the media talk shows are hesitant to put light in the miseries of the masses. Life of a common man has become very difficult in our society but politicians have turned the deaf ear to redress the grievances of the masses.
