ISLAMABAD, Dec 21 (NNI): Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Islamabad Asmat Ullah Junejo has said that notables of the society will be included for protection of human rights and to solve public problems on priority basis.
It was stated by him while addressing to the members of Citizen Police Coordination Committees working in various police stations of Islamabad. In the beginning the participants including police officials prayed for innocent school children and other who lost their lives in Peshawar incident.
On this occasion SP Saddar Muhammad Ilyas, SP City Rizwan Umar Gondal, SP Industrial Area Liaqat Hayat Niazi and other police officials were also present.
On the special directions of the Inspector General of Police (IGP), SSP Islamabad conducted a meeting with the CPCC members. SSP said Islamabad police has taken special measures to ensure community policing so that disputes of minor nature could be reconciled among the parties without any political interference if any.
The SSP Islamabad said basic purpose of police is to serve the public and address their complaints on immediate basis. He said no stone will be left unturned in this regard.
He further said that police and public cooperation should be enhanced in order to strengthen trust-building measures.
The concept of friendly police is being promoted and creation of friendly atmosphere is being ensured at the Police Stations, he maintained.
The SSP urged representatives of these Committees to work honestly and with devotion in order to solve the problems of general public. He said there should be no gap between police and public and crime control measures should be made more effective with mutual cooperation.
The SSP said these centers would have priority areas including resolving community problems on immediate basis, inculcating friendly police ecology with polite and decent attitude, providing enhanced security atmosphere, provision of better working environment and end to indecent practices from police stations.
On the occasion, coordinators and members of all citizen police coordination committees assured full cooperation with police. The SSP listened to the problems of CPCC members and assured to solve them for effective policing. NNI
