ISLAMABAD (INP) Minister of State Barrister Usman Ibrahim of Capital Administration & Development Division chaired a meeting regarding the Establishment of Medical Tower at PIMS on Tuesday.
We are planning to build a state of the art medical tower in PIMS, said the Minister of State. Preliminary analysis has been conducted by IPDF (Infrastructure Project Development facility) of Ministry of Finance, on the basis of PC-I (2006) of the project and feasibility study of PIMS National Institute of Dentistry (2009). The estimated cost of the project would be Rs. 8.3 billion.
Minister of state emphasized on the need of having new hospital and medical school for the capital city. We need to be farsighted enough to give a healthy life to our future generation and for that such medical facility has an important part to play in.
As per PC-I, medical tower would have 800 beds’ hospital including 200 semi private, 100 private and 2 VIP rooms. It would also have a medical and a dental school with approximate class size of 100 students including national and international students. This project would be executed as a public-private partnership to provide the medical treatments and facilities like liver transplant, open heart surgery etc, SZABMU will be the 51% shareholder in it, Stated the State Minister.
In the end Minister of State said that after the verification and validation by the SZABMU, IPDF would proceed with the preparation of relevant documents.
Meeting was attended by Adil Anwar CEO (IPDF), Ahmad Imran senior infrastructure specialist (IPDF), Javed Akram Vice Chancellor (SZABMU), Dr. Altaf Hussain Administrator (PIMS), and Saeed Ullah Niazi Director (Finance).
